Moyock Baptist Church
Virtual Worship Services PDF Print E-mail

In light of the coronavirus outbreak, and the ban on public gatherings as a means of arresting the spread of the virus, churches across the country are using innovative means to "gather" for worship. Our church is no exception.

Until we are allowed to meet again in person, we'll be conducting our Sunday morning worship services online, using a video conferencing platform called Zoom. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., and will last 45-60 minutes. We will open the service for viewers by 10:45 a.m., so that you can log on and check your audio and video connections.

Virtual Sunday School PDF Print E-mail

During this time of enforced separation, our Sunday School classes and other small groups are meeting through Zoom, a web-based video conferencing platform.

A meeting schedule of class dates and times, along with links to the class sessons themselves, has been emailed to all those active in our fellowship.

If you did not receive a schedule, please contact the church office at 252-435-6230. We send you a meeting schedule, and will make sure that your contact information is properly entered in our system.

Medical Masks Needed PDF Print E-mail

As you know, there's a nationwide shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) for doctors, nurses, and other workers in hospitals, doctors' offices, and clinics. Many people have expressed an interest in helping fill this need.

Here's a video which describes how a medical mask can be made by a seamstress at home.

And here's a suggestion for improving that design.

Insert 6" twist-tie at the top edge. Then, top-stitch at its ends and underneath it to secure it in place. Then pleat and top-stitch around the other three sides.

Here's a materials list for a medical mask:

3 - 9"×6" rectangles of 100% cotton fabric. (A rectangle cut from a cotton t-shirt can be used for the flannel layer shown in the video.)

 1 - 6" twist-tie

 2 - 7" pieces of 1/8" or 1/4" elastic

If you need materials delivered to your home, have a question about the design, or need someone to pick up a batch of finished masks and get them where they're needed, send an email via the contact form on our website, or call the church office at 252-435-6230.

Helping One Another PDF Print E-mail

From time to time, life gets hectic. A new baby is born. A parent is house-bound, recovering from surgery. A husband is out to sea and the washer breaks down. An out-of-town family member is terminally ill.

When those times happen, and they happen to all of us, a meal from a caring church member can make a world of difference.

To facilitate this kind of personal ministry, we've subscribed to a new service, Meal Train. It's a way to identify needs among our church family, and to coordinate the response to those needs.
