Mission Trip Print

Each summer, a team of youth and adults travels to a mission site for a week-long mission trip.

In 2002, we sent a group to Smyrna, Tennessee, to help with the restoration of the Wherry Housing Project, and in 2003, we worked in Perry County, Alabama, one of the poorest counties in the country, to assist in community restoration efforts. Both of these trips were taken with churches in the Mission Unidiversity network.

In 2004 and 2005, we were partners with Park Slope Community Church in Brooklyn, NY, a small congregation struggling to maintain a large, and largely neglected, church facility. We did a lot of important repairs and painted the church's community room.

In 2006 and 2007, we went to Charleston WV, to work with West Charleston Baptist Church under the leadership of Norm Cannada. We conducted a variety of servant evangelism projects, did some home repair in the community, and led a basketball camp/day camp for children and youth.

In 2008, we rejoined the Mission Univdiversity group at Park Avenue Baptist Church in Atlanta, again helping a small congregation maintain and renovate an older, oversized building.

In 2009, we worked with Mission Unidiversity in Farmville, VA, doing a variety of projects in two area churches, a local elementary school, and some private homes.

Last year, we sent a team to Long Island to assist in the rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Sandy.
